Shiatsu is an institution in Japan, and its popularity is growing rapidly in the United States and around the world. Students will learn a one hour full body shiatsu-anma session, mastering techniques of soothing, kneading, shiatsu pressure, range of motion exercises and correcting methods. The session includes prone, supine and sitting positions, where it concludes with tapping techniques applied as hand music. The form is taught in the traditional manner on the floor, where it can later be adapted to table and chair practice. The class explores Chinese Medicine, yoga, and related Eastern Healing Arts.
